Spectra Media Collective has announced the launch of Spectra.Theater, a new online platform for the theatre community to collaborate, innovate, and share information.
The site provides a database of information about Broadway, Off-Broadway, regional, educational, and community shows, with opportunities for theatremakers to register their current and upcoming projects and expand their network.
Community members can access details about a multitude of productions, including those licensable by Music Theatre International, Theatrical Rights Worldwide, Concord Theatricals, and Broadway Licensing. The database provides information including titles, venues, performers, writers, directors, designers, production team members, administrators, marketing materials, and more.
“With loneliness and isolation presenting profound threats to our health and well-being, theatre is more important than ever, " Kim Saunders, CEO of Spectra Media Collective, said in a statement. “Theatre, like all live entertainment events, offers social connection, sensory enrichment, and improved mental health—benefits that directly reduce those threats through shared, in-person experiences. But these benefits are only accessible via attention, which digital platforms zealously hoard. Spectra is a digital playground that supports seamlessly integrated theatre for audiences and artists, putting live performance as our focus, and enabling theatre to compete more effectively in the attention economy.”
Spectra was founded in 2022 by the Saunders family of artists—Kim Saunders, Heath Saunders (Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812; Company), Claire Saunders (Sweeney Todd), Trent Saunders (Hadestown, Aladdin, Dead Outlaw), Alanna Saunders, and advisor Blake Saunders. The Spectra team will be on hand at BroadwayCon 2025 to offer tours of the site and answer any questions.
