Sophia Anne Caruso, Tony winner Lena Hall, and more Broadway alums will star in York Theatre Company’s upcoming developmental presentation of Twist of Fate. The invite-only reading is set for February 4.
The musical has a book and lyrics by Lissa Levin and music by Ron Abel, with a score influenced by flamenco and pop. Twist of Fate, inspired by a real-life first amendment case, follows a fortune teller who is arrested in 1970s Los Angeles and tries to win the respect of her teenage daughter by fighting the law instead of running from it.
Bill Castellino directs a cast also featuring David Baida, Jake Boyd, Allyson Kaye Daniel, Lena Hall, Jillian Louis, and Ryan Silverman. The music director is Ron Abel with Willette Klausner and Jim Kierstead as executive producers.
