Off-Broadway News See Who's Starring in Off-Broadway's Pretty Perfect Lives, About Social Media Influencers

Hadestown's Jordan Fisher is the executive producer for the three-person drama set in the near future.

Casting is now set for Gage Tarlton's Pretty Perfect Lives—a speculative-fiction play about identity, obsession, sexual exploration, internet addiction, and the dangers of turning life into content—which will play a four-week engagement at Off-Broadway's Flea Theater beginning August 17.

Directed by Gabi Carrubba, the cast will feature Elizabeth Lail (You), Zane Phillips (Fire Island), and Nic Ashe (Queen Sugar).

Pretty Perfect Lives, which is set in the near future, follows lifestyle influencer couple TIFFANY&TUCKER, whose relationship is put to the test when they are selected to join the Internet Reality Simulation-Project: a new digital program that allows you to travel through different versions of your life via augmented reality.

The show will also have scenic and costume design by Josh Oberlander, lighting and projection design by Zack Lobel, sound design by Emma Hasselbach, production management by Erica Ammerman, and general management by Wilson Plonk. Tyler Danhaus serves as production stage manager.

“We are so thrilled to bring Pretty Perfect Lives to life and to create theatre that is accessible for young people, by young people,” said producers Allie Kench and Madison Thompson in a joint statement. “We fell in love with Gage’s script because it was the first time that we felt a piece of theatre explored the nuanced relationship between people and social media with both empathy and understanding of what we need as human beings. We hope that those who may be intrigued by, or have complicated relationships with, social media find humor and comfort in this exciting and unique play.”

Hadestown's Jordan Fisher is serving as the play’s executive producer under his Sora Entertainment banner. Co-producers include Carter Kench, Davi Bryan, Happy Recap Productions, and Maxwell Whittington-Cooper.

Performances will continue through September 8.
