Ruth Stage's revival of Tennessee Williams' Cat on a Hot Tin Roof will officially open July 24 at The Theater at St. Clements and continue through August 14.
The cast features Sonoya Mizuno (Crazy Rich Asians) as Maggie, Matt de Rogatis (Lone Star) as Brick, Daytime Emmy winner Christian Jules Le Blanc (The Young and the Restless) as Big Daddy, two-time Tony nominee Alison Fraser (The Secret Garden) as Big Mama, Milton Elliott (Biloxi Blues) as Rev. Tooker, Tiffan Borelli (Million Dollar Quartet) as Mae, Carly Gold (The Ferryman) as The No Neck Monsters, Spencer Scott (The Glass Menagerie) as Gooper, and Jim Kempner (Red) as Doc Baugh (Austin Pendleton takes on the role beginning July 25).
Joe Rosario (Flowers for Algernon) directs. Williams' play is set on the Mississippi estate of cotton tycoon Big Daddy Pollit and explores the difficult relationships between his troubled son Brick, Brick’s outspoken wife Maggie, his ambitious elder son Gooper, and daughter-in-law Mae.
The production also has scenic design by Matt Imhoff (Disney’s High School Musical), lighting design by Steve Wolf (The Glass Menagerie), and sound design by Ben Levine (All Is Calm). Jesse Meckl is the stage manager.
This staging is the first Off-Broadway production of the play allowed by Williams' estate. On Broadway, the 1955 Pulitzer-winning drama has been revived five times, most recently starring Scarlett Johansson and Benjamin Walker in 2013. Elizabeth Taylor and Paul Newman starred in the 1958 film adaptation.
