Tony winner Ben Platt (Dear Evan Hansen) and Frozen's Kristen Bell play struggling American siblings Paul and Alice in the new film The People We Hate at the Wedding, which will be released globally on Prime Video November 18. Get a first look at the upcoming release in the trailer above.
Based on the book by Grant Ginder, the Amazon Studios film is written by Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin and Wendy Molyneux with direction by Claire Scanlon. The cast also features Oscar winner Allison Janney, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Karan Soni, Dustin Milligan, Tony Goldwyn, Isaach De Bankolé, Jorma Taccone, and Julian Ovenden.
In the film, Paul and Alice reluctantly agree to attend the wedding of their estranged half-sister (Addai-Robinson) in the English countryside alongside their mother (Janney). Over the course of the wedding week, the family’s many skeletons are wrenched from the closet.
Margot Hand and Ashley Fox produce the comedy.
