Two industry readings of the new dark comedy musical A Girl I Know will be presented June 22 and 23 at the National Opera Center in Manhattan.
Directed by Jamibeth Margolis, the readings will feature Roe Hartrampf (Diana), Chloe Lowery (Rocktopia), Sean Thompson (Sunset Boulevard), Stephanie Lynne Mason (Fiddler on the Roof), Michael Patrick Ryan (Newsies national tour), and Maria Lawson (The X Factor).
With music and lyrics by John Riley and a book and lyrics by Kate Queen, the new musical concerns a beautiful masseuse named Jeni, who can’t stop murdering cheating men until she meets a suicidal client who thinks he can fix her. Riley is also the music director for the upcoming readings.
