Grammy winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Joni Mitchell attended her first Broadway show ever, the November 3 opening night of the new Cameron Crowe musical Almost Famous. Check out video of her arrival above.

Based on Crowe's Oscar-winning semi-autobiographical screenplay, the musical follows a 15-year-old aspiring music journalist who Rolling Stone hires to go on tour with an up-and-coming rock band. A love letter to rock music, the film included a robust soundtrack of tunes from late 60s and early 70s, a few of which made the jump from screen to stage with the story including Elton John's "Tiny Dancer" and Mitchell's "River," from her quintessential album Blue.

The musical's cast features Solea Pfeiffer as Penny Lane, the role which garnered an Oscar nomination for a young Kate Hudson; Chris Wood as the band's guitarist Russell Hammond; Casey Likes as teen journalist William Miller; Tony nominee Anika Larsen as William's mother Elaine; Drew Gehling as the band's lead singer Jeff Bebe; and Rob Colletti as journalist Lester Bangs, played by Phillip Seymour Hoffman in the film.

In addition to the show's soundtrack songs, Almost Famous has a score of new, original material with music by Tom Kitt and lyrics by Crowe and Kitt,  including "Morocco," performed by Likes and Pfeiffer (listen here) and "The Night-Time Sky's Got Nothing on You," performed by Pfeiffer and Wood (listen here).
