The North American tour of Pretty Woman: The Musical will welcome Jessie Davidson in her national tour debut as its new Vivian Ward next month.
Davidson (Harmony) will succeed Olivia Valli (Jersey Boys, Wicked), who has portrayed Ward since the tour began. Valli plays her final performance October 9 in New Orleans, Louisiana, with Davidson's first performance set for October 10 in Memphis, Tennessee.
The cast also features Jessica Crouch as Kit De Luca, Matthew Stocke as Philip Stuckey, and Kyle Taylor Parker as Happy Man/Mr. Thompson; Parker is scheduled to perform through the tour's December 11 stop in Kansas City, Missouri.
The ensemble includes Jade Amber, Natalie Bourgeois, Christian Brailsford, Anju Cloud, Nella Cole, Michael Dalke, Carissa Gaughran, Em Hadick, Graham Keen, Christian Kidd, Keyonna Knight, Chris Manuel, Devon McCleskey, Kaylee Olson, Amma Osei, Hillary Porter, Alice Reys, Jonathan Ritter, Trent Soyster, Brett Stoelker, and Jonathan Young.
The Pretty Woman tour launched in October 2021 in Providence, Rhode Island, and will continue through May 7, 2023, with a final engagement in Sacramento, California.
Based on the movie about a star-crossed meeting between a sex worker and a disillusioned businessman, the stage musical features a book co-written by the film’s director, the late Garry Marshall, and screenwriter J.F. Lawton, plus music by Grammy winner Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance. Also featured in the musical is Roy Orbison and Bill Dee’s hit “Oh, Pretty Woman,” which inspired the film.
Music director Daniel Klintworth leads a band that includes Shane Parus on keyboards, Oscar Bautista on guitar, Claudio Rainó on guitar, Magda Kress on bass, and Kevin McNaughton on drums.
The production, directed and choreographed by Jerry Mitchell, features sets by David Rockwell, costume design by Gregg Barnes, lighting design by Kenneth Posner and Philip S. Rosenberg, sound design by John Shivers, hair design by Josh Marquette, and music supervision, arrangements, and orchestrations by Will Van Dyke. The production stage manager is RL Campbell, the stage manager is Julianne Menassian, and the assistant stage manager is Leslie S. Allen.
Pretty Woman ended its 13-month run at Broadway's Nederlander Theatre August 18, 2019. The musical began performances in Hamburg, Germany, September 24, 2019, and opened in London’s West End in February 2020 before COVID-19 shuttered theatres around the world. The London production reopened July 8, 2021, at the Savoy.
