The second season of Apple TV+'s Schmigadoon! transports audiences to Schmicago, a darker world of '60s and '70s musicals that includes nods to such favorites as Cabaret, Pippin, Godspell, Jesus Christ Superstar, Sweeney Todd, Company, and, of course, Chicago.
The all-star cast—including Ann Harada, Jane Krakowski, Tituss Burgess, Aaron Tveit, Cecily Strong, Keegan-Michael Key, Alan Cumming, and Kristin Chenoweth, along with show creator Cinco Paul—visited New York City's Fifth Avenue Apple Store April 7 to talk about the new episodes. See photos from the event below.
The new season debuted with a two-episode drop April 5, with four more set to hit the streamer each Wednesday through May 3. As always, Playbill is here to walk fans through each episode of the musical theatre send-up series, making sure you catch every last reference.
The cast also features Ariana DeBose, Jaime Camil, Martin Short, and Dove Cameron, who like most of the cast are returning from the series' first season (Burgess, along with Hadestown star Patrick Page, are newcomers). The first season featured original numbers that parodied the song styles and scenes of classics like Oklahoma!, Camelot, and, of course, Brigadoon, earning the series a loyal following of theatre fans and an Emmy Award.
