Checking into our hotel in Wilmington, DE, where we get to finally OPEN our show! As you can see…we all have too much stuff!!
Sarah Michelle Cuc
Our beautiful friend and castmate, Kristin Litzenberg, invited us all to a bonfire at her parents’ house for a fun night off before opening night. Here I am with my super cool tour roomie, Kaitlyn Etter!!

Me and our fabulous director, Steve Beckler, at the opening night party. I could not have been more thrilled to have worked with him on this project—he really knows his stuff! What a talent!!
Sarah Michelle Cuc
My sweetest friend, Emily Kay Shrader, who plays my weird dancing pal, my partner in crime— or as much crime as a couple of nuns can commit—Sister Mary Robert!!
Sarah Michelle Cuc
We had a free afternoon in Wilmington, DE, so we went exploring and found The Brandywine Zoo. Kristin and Kaitlyn are apparently Goat Whisperers!!!
Sarah Michelle Cuc
A mutual friend of myself and Megan Opalinski kidnapped us and took us on a surprise outing. We never would have expected this! A GIANT statue of the Mother Mary, probably 5x the size of our Mary statue in the show!!
Sarah Michelle Cuc
The walls of the DuPont Theatre are covered in signatures of famous actors who have performed there in the past…and we just happened to find the signature of the mother nun herself, Julie Andrews!!! Imagine our excitement!! !
Sarah Michelle Cuc
My parents surprised me and drove up to Delaware to see the show!! They said, “We can’t miss your first stop!” This was one of my happiest days. I am so blessed to have such supportive, loving parents!!!
Sarah Michelle Cuc
Next stop, Paducah, KY! Got there to find that we shared a program with Mamma Mia! Little reminders of friends across the country, all doing what they love! !
Sarah Michelle Cuc
Lunch stop on our way to Conway, AR. We need to get out and stretch our legs and move our bodies, especially on long travel days! Here are some of the cast and crew playing a quick game of frisbee before hopping back on the bus for a few more hours…ironically right in front of
a store called “STAGE.” ;)!
Sarah Michelle Cuc
This is what we call “Gondola Row,” where all of our costumes hang out until it’s time to get dressed. Each cast member has their own section and chair in front of their gondola where they are able to make all their costume changes.
Sarah Michelle Cuc
Mic check time! At each new theatre we have to do a mic check where we sing through many of the group numbers, and we also use this time to walk through choreography so we know how it feels in each new theatre!!
Sarah Michelle Cuc
This bus is our “home on wheels!” On the way back to the hotel from the theatre in Conway, AR.
Sarah Michelle Cuc
This is where we pick up our microphones every day before the show. Each pouch is labeled with our picture and character name.
Sarah Michelle Cuc
Silly nuns! Here I am with my buddies, Nancy Evans (Mary Lazarus) and Emily Kay Shrader (Mary Robert).
Sarah Michelle Cuc
We have three trucks that travel our sets, costumes and lights—everything that goes along with putting on a show! Here you can see two of them, along with the cast bus, getting ready to head back to the hotel.
Sarah Michelle Cuc
We had some free time in Galveston, TX, so our first night in town we all got together for a group dinner! Here are the girls (L-R), Kristin, Kaitlyn, Jennie, Stephanie, Megan and myself.
Sarah Michelle Cuc
We had a two show day in Galveston, but we couldn’t miss out on seeing the pier and the beach! We visited Galveston’s famous Pleasure Pier and had just enough time to ride two rides each! (L-R) Sarah, Kaitlyn, Kristin, Stephanie, Nick, Tara and Jennie.
Sarah Michelle Cuc
Me and my twin bestie and Mary Pat understudy Jennie Joefree at sound check in Galveston.
Sarah Michelle Cuc
A cool shot I got of the nuns during spacing rehearsal. This is one of our trickiest choreographic moves, and we nailed it!
Sarah Michelle Cuc
The inside of one of our trucks. Look closely and you can see Mother Mary hasn’t been unloaded yet!
Sarah Michelle Cuc
On to Lincoln, NE! I had a fun time doing some press before the show, and had to make sure to snap a pic in front of their cool scrolling marquee!!
Sarah Michelle Cuc
On stage at the beautiful Lied Center in Lincoln during sound check. Look at that red!
Sarah Michelle Cuc
This is our stage left prop box. Every prop we use is kept in a box and labeled so that we can always find it. See those hymnals?
Sarah Michelle Cuc
Part of our Gondola Row in Lincoln. Every nun has three head pieces: A black veil, a white veil, and a SEQUIN VEIL! Can you guess which one is my favorite?? ;)
Sarah Michelle Cuc
Some sets backstage. As you can see, there are two sides to Mary: one regular, and ONE SEQUIN!!! Okay….as you can see I really love the sparkle!!
Sarah Michelle Cuc
One more, and I promise I’ll stop. But just look at her!! She’s so big and shiny!! My favorite set piece, by FAR!
Sarah Michelle Cuc
This is our call board. This goes up in every theatre, and we have to sign in when we arrive. In addition to the sign in sheet there are announcements and info sheets for the theatre. On the right you can see arrows, which are put up in the hallways of every theatre so we know how to get around in a new theatre every night.
Sarah Michelle Cuc
Had some free time and got to explore Lincoln with one of my best friends!
Sarah Michelle Cuc
Here she is! I got to give her a little tour of backstage, but coincidentally this wasn’t the first time she’d stepped foot on this stage! Dani graduated from law school and received her diploma right here!!
Sarah Michelle Cuc
We had a stopover in Davenport on our way to Kalamazoo, and we had a later-than-usual bus call in the morning, so me and my roomie decided to splurge on some room service! #totallyworthit !
Sarah Michelle Cuc
We travelled through the Chicago area on our way to Kalamazoo….and it was snowing….on HALLOWEEN! This is the face of a girl who’s California blood loves the snow, but does not love it without proper winter attire!
Sarah Michelle Cuc
Deonté, just chillin’ on the bus with his laptop! Looks like he had a swing seat on this day, which means he gets two seats to himself to spread out! !
Sarah Michelle Cuc
Maggie Clennon Reberg (Mother Superior) and F. Tyler Burnet (Joey) got us a special Halloween treat—a cookie cake to share on the bus! Here is Taylor Marsh, ready to dig in!
Sarah Michelle Cuc
It was cold and snowy on Halloween, so we had an indoor Halloween party! Make-shift costumes with whatever we could find in our suitcases and "Casper the Friendly Ghost" on TV. Couldn’t have asked for a better night! (For the record: I was a zebra!)
Sarah Michelle Cuc
We’re in Kalamazoo, MI and Shaun Leslie Thomas is swinging on for the first time! Yay Shaun, you were GREAT!!
Sarah Michelle Cuc
These are our quick change bins! The entire cast has a MASSIVE quick change at the end of the show, so each person has their own box, and the boxes get lined up off stage so we can all get sparkly for the finale (you know that’s my favorite!).
Sarah Michelle Cuc
It’s always fun when family is in the audience! My Uncle Dennis drove 2 hours to see the show! He said he kept wanting to tell the people around him, “That’s my niece!” Thanks for coming!! :)
Sarah Michelle Cuc
Me and the ever-delightful Tara Tagliaferro (Mary Martin-of-Tours) just hanging out in the dressing room! But wait, who’s that? Is that Bun Bun?? He’s at it again! #bunbunbombedit!
Sarah Michelle Cuc
On our way out of Kalamazoo we got to spend one night in Memphis! So cool to be in such an amazing city with so much history. We packed our evening FULL of activities to make the most of it! Here we are at the famous Peabody Hotel where we got to see the March of the Ducks!!
Sarah Michelle Cuc
On our way to dinner we stopped by to experience a very moving piece of history—the Lorraine Motel, where Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated. It was incredible to stand right there and remember what he stood for until the day he died. This was a day I will never forget.
Sarah Michelle Cuc
After dinner I got to experience my first NBA game! Memphis Grizzlies vs. New Orleans Pelicans. They even welcomed us on the big screen!!!
Sarah Michelle Cuc
On our way out of the game we stopped for a quick pic with the team mascot. I love cast outings!!
Sarah Michelle Cuc
And last but not least, we couldn’t leave Memphis without visiting Beale Street! We spent the night dancing away at BB King’s. What a blast!! (R-L): Harmony France, Taylor Morgan Marsh, Kaitlyn Etter, Sarah Michelle Cuc, Jennie Joefree, Kristin Litzenberg.
Sarah Michelle Cuc
Next stop, Texarkana, TX! My very best and oldest friend since 3rd grade, Ericka, came to see the show today! It was so nice to catch up. I don’t think I’d seen her in at least 6 years! This is one of the things that makes a national tour so cool. Not only do I get to visit so many places that I might have never seen, I also get to see so many friends and family members along the way!!
Sarah Michelle Cuc
Pretty cool that we got to play at Texas A&M! We visited the bookstore and we all wanted to buy t-shirts just to say we’d been there!!
Sarah Michelle Cuc
Pre-show focus time—Emily Kay Shrader (Mary Robert), spends some quiet time at her dressing station with music and her journal.
Sarah Michelle Cuc
Our beautiful star, Kerissa Arrington (Deloris), poses for a quick pic before she gets ready for the show. Kerissa and I met at the open call auditions in New York and became fast friends. I am so blessed by her talent and graciousness every day! I am not kidding when I say this girl is a STAR.
Sarah Michelle Cuc
The ladies’ dressing room! We all have a photo label at our station, and each of us has a small box for our personal show-prep items.
Sarah Michelle Cuc
Getting mail on the road is something I always look forward to! While being on tour is amazing, being away can make you homesick, so to get a piece of home in the mail is nice. Today, I got a card from my grandma, just to say HI!
Sarah Michelle Cuc
Our amazing wig supervisor, Cosmo, and our equally amazing dance captain, Nicole, playing “hair salon” at intermission!
Sarah Michelle Cuc
I won’t even pretend to know what a load-out actually looks like, but this is the beginnings of one! Crew members are starting to bring down the drops and pack away props. They work hard for hours at night and move on to the next city overnight to load in to the next theatre!!
Sarah Michelle Cuc
At many theaters there are posters for us to sign on our way out. Here is Nicholas Rodriguez and Nicole Ferguson putting down their soon-to-be-worth-moolah autographs!
Sarah Michelle Cuc
We visited Gator Country during our stop in Orange, TX. Here is Patrick Clanton holding an alligator!
Sarah Michelle Cuc
I did it, too!!! Conquered a fear today! As you can see, I look a little unsure!
Sarah Michelle Cuc
Many of us brought furry friends on the road with us. Here is everyone with their snuggle buddy on the bus!
Sarah Michelle Cuc
This is the stage manager’s station. Our amazing, talented stage manager, Molly Goodwin, calls the show from this spot every night. The show could not happen without her!
Sarah Michelle Cuc
Emily Kay (Mary Robert) is hiding in her tiny closet in Orange, TX during intermission!!
Sarah Michelle Cuc
The theatre in Orange, TX is famous in the national touring world for always providing an incredible meal for the actors. Here we are, scarfing the amazing gumbo and homemade potato salad between shows on our double day.
Sarah Michelle Cuc
The hotel in Orange, TX has signed posters of all the national tours that have come through, and ours is next up on the wall!!
Sarah Michelle Cuc
Lawrence Dandridge (TJ)—an audience favorite—picking out his afro wig before the show!
Sarah Michelle Cuc
Derrick Cosmo West, our wig supervisor, sets wigs during intermission so they are beautiful for tomorrow’s show!
Sarah Michelle Cuc
We are so fortunate to have a physical therapist who travels with us on the road! Angelica Davison has her work cut out for her—we all have body things we need help with! Here she is with Eileen Patterson, working on her ankle during intermission.
Sarah Michelle Cuc
Renée Veronica Freeman plays a nun in the ensemble and is our Deloris Alternate. She gets to play Deloris two days per week, and this week she just happened to on her birthday in her hometown! Nothing like a birthday standing-o!
