Adapted and performed by Ronald Keaton and directed by Kurt Johns, the show began previews Off-Broadway Feb. 6 and was originally scheduled to to run through May 31 then extended for a first time through July 12. The Off-Broadway engagement follows an acclaimed and sold-out, world-premiere run in Chicago last year.

Keaton's play, billed as a "powerful meditation on life in wartime," is based on the British leader's life and writings. In Churchill, the man himself discusses his failures and his successes; and his love of art, liquor and women.

Ronald Keaton's theatre credits include performances at the Goodman Theatre, Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Marriott’s Lincolnshire Theatre, Drury Lane Oakbrook Terrace, Theatre at the Center, Theater Wit, and Oak Park Festival Theatre, among many others. His regional credits include roles at the Indiana Repertory Theatre, Houston's Alley Theatre, the Nat Horne Theatre and the Coconut Grove Playhouse in Miami.

Director Kurt Johns' credits include The Mistress Cycle and Iron, The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife at Chicago’s Apple Tree Theatre and Iolanthe at Light Opera Works. As an actor, Johns has appeared in the Broadway productions of Aspects of Love and Chess and the first national tour of Les Miserables.

Scenic and lighting design for Churchill are by Jason Epperson, with projection design by Paul Deziel and sound design by Eric Backus. Churchill is a joint production of the Greenhouse Theater Center, SoloChicago, and the Wendy and William Spatz Charitable Foundation, with the support and permission of The Churchill Centre.

Tickets are $65 and are available at Telecharge.com or by calling (212) 239-6200. New World Stages is located at 340 West 50th Street, New York.
