Set in Weimar-era Germany, the story follows an American writer living in Berlin during the rise of Adolph Hitler. The classic score introduced such songs as "Willkommen," "Don't Tell Mama," and the title number.
Casting has also been announced for Barrington's world premiere of Mark St. Germain’s The Happiest Man on Earth, which opens the 2023 St. Germain Stage season May 24-June 17.
Directed by Ron Lagomarsino, the production will star Kenneth Tigar (Fish in the Dark, The Man in the High Castle) as Holocaust survivor Eddie Jaku, based on his 2020 memoir of the same name, published when Jaku was 100 years old.
The production will also feature scenic design by James Noone, costume design by Johanna Pan, lighting design by María-Cristina Fusté, and sound design by Brendan Aanes. The production stage manager is Leslie Sears.
