Molière in the Park will present OneLove OneTheatre Gala October 2 at Negril BK in Brooklyn. The evening, which begins at 7 PM, will honor the inaugural recipients of the theatre organization's Shoulder-to-Shoulder Award.
The first recipients are Emmy-winning actor and MIP founding member Samira Wiley and Consul Général of France in New York Jérémie Robert. Both were selected as individuals who, through their work, embody a principle dear to MIP's mission: Theatre is an essential space where people of all socioeconomic, cultural, and racial backgrounds can sit shoulder to shoulder and share an experience of humanity and unity.
Murray Hill will host the evening, which will feature performances by Marc delaCruz, Emmy winner Michael Emerson, Yonatan Gebeyehu, Jennifer Mudge, Tony winner Deirdre O'Connell, and Michelle Veintimilla.
MIP, founded by Artistic Director Lucie Tiberghien and Co-Founding Executive Producer Garth Belcon, aims to promote empathy and unity within the diverse communities of Brooklyn through the arts, offering free year-round theatrical experiences for the public in Prospect Park.
Drinks, Caribbean-style hors d'oeuvres, and dessert will also part of the evening, which will continue until 10 PM.
Tickets for the gala are available for purchase at MoliereInThePark.org.
