Performances will run April 30-May 3 at Stage Left Studio in New York. Lang's newest work is the result of over five years of research, including trips to Wisconsin, where the Lunts' summer estate has been restored into a museum and arts center. Lunt and Fontanne were famous stage actors of their time, with numerous Broadway, West End and regional credits. A Broadway theatre was named after them, and the Cole Porter musical Kiss Me, Kate was also inspired by their relationship.
Directed by Owen Thompson, Lunt and Fontanne: The Celestials of Broadway, starring just Lang and Murphy, examines the couple's relationship, celebrates their work and their ongoing legacy. Costumes are by Jessa-Raye Court with original incidental music by Anthony Uva.
Stage Left Studio is located at 214 West 30th St., 6th Floor, New York City. For more information visit luntandfontanne.com.
