Last night's 76th Annual Tony Awards had a red carpet full of memorable fashion moments. But one of the standout looks of the evening was when Hollywood and Broadway actor and presenter Lupita Nyong'o arrived wearing a breastplate cast and molded using Nyong'o's body. 

The breastplate was created by Pakistani artist and fashion designer Misha Japanwala, as Nyong'o revealed on Instagram. Calling it "a shameless out-of-body experience," Nyong'o spoke about how Japanwala's work rejects and deconstructs the shame put on one's body by others. In casting and molding her work to someone's body, Japanwala "creates a realistic and true record of a person's body as an act of resistance and celebration," wrote Nyong'o in her post.

Nyong'o made the silver-toned breastplate the focus of her red carpet look by pairing the wearable artwork with a suit jacket and pants. Check out the look below.

Complimenting the outfit were temporary head tattoos, jewelry from De Beers, and a handbag by Bella Rosa. Micaela Erlinger styled Nyong'o, as well as Tony nominee Saheem Ali and Between Riverside and Crazy's Common. Nick Barose worked as Nyong'o's makeup artist for the evening. Further artistry in crafting Nyong'o's look was provided by Sonya Belakhlef, Sabeen, and Jay Johnson.

Japanwala's work is currently on view in an exhibition titled Beghairati Ki Nishaani: Traces of Shamelessness at New York City's Hannah Traore Gallery through July 30.
