London's Donmar Warehouse will stage a 30th anniversary revival of Patrick Marber's Dealer's Choice this spring, with performances running April 18–June 7. Opening night will be April 18, with Matthew Dunster at the helm.
The work, originally produced in 1995, served as Marber's professional debut, centering on a weekly poker game held in the basement of a failing London restaurant. When a stranger arrives, the stakes get higher, and things turn savage. The original production won the Evening Standard Award for Best Comedy and the Writer's Guild of Great Britain Award for Best West End Play. Marber is a Tony winner for directing 2023's Leopoldstadt.
Donmar's upcoming production will feature Alfie Allen as Frankie, Hammed Animashuaun as Mugsy, Theo Barklem-Biggs as Sweeney, Brendan Coyle as Ash, Kasper Hilton-Hille as Carl, and Daniel Lapaine as Stephen. Casting is by Lotte Hines.
The creative team will include designer Moi Tran, lighting designer Sally Ferguson, and sound designer Holly Khan.
Tickets are currently available for Donmar members, with general sales beginning February 7. Visit DonmarWarehouse.com.
