Laura Benanti will extend her run as Eliza Doolittle in the Broadway revival of My Fair Lady through July 7, 2019.
The Tony-winning star was originally scheduled to end her run in the role February 17. Benanti took over for star Lauren Ambrose, who earned a Tony nomination for her performance, in October.

The cast also features Rosemary Harris as Mrs. Higgins, Allan Corduner as Colonel Pickering, Clarke Thorell as Professor Zoltan Karpathy, and Linda Mugleston as Mrs. Pearce.
Directed by Tony winner Bartlett Sher, the production features choreography by Christopher Gattelli, original musical arrangements by Robert Russell Bennett and Phil Lang, dance arrangements by Trude Rittman, musical direction by Ted Sperling, scenic design by Michael Yeargan, costume design by Catherine Zuber, lighting design by Donald Holder, sound design by Marc Salzberg, hair and wig design by Tom Watson, and casting by Telsey + Company.
Benanti plays the role of Eliza seven performances each week; understudy Kerstin Anderson, who had been playing Eliza on Sunday matinees during Ambrose’s tenure, assumes the role at all Tuesday evening performances.
Benanti most recently appeared on Broadway in Steve Martin’s comedy Meteor Shower last fall. Prior to that, she starred as Amalia Balash in Roundabout Theatre Company’s 2016 revival of She Loves Me, for which she earned a Tony nomination. The actor appeared as Candela in Lincoln Center Theater’s production of Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown in 2010, also directed by Sher and choreographed by Gattelli, and Lincoln Center Theater’s production of Sarah Ruhl’s In the Next Room.
She won her Tony Award as Louise in Gypsy, starring opposite Patti LuPone. Her additional Broadway credits include The Wedding Singer, Nine, Tony-nominated performances in Into the Woods and Swing!, and The Sound of Music. Recently, Benanti has been working in television on series such as Nashville, Supergirl, and a guest arc on the latest season of TV Land’s Younger starring Sutton Foster.
