The Los Angeles fires have forced the cancellation of the planned all-queer concert performance of Little Shop of Horrors, originally scheduled for January 17 at Los Angeles nightclub Catch One. The performance was to have starred Joel Kim Booster as Seymour, Alex Newell as Audrey, and Shea Couleé as Audrey II.

The one-night-only event was to have raised funds for the Ali Forney Center and its work to support and provide shelter to homeless LGBTQIA+ youth. Donations can be made to that organization in lieu of the performance at AliForneyCenter.org.

Booster and Couleé would have been reprising their performances from a 2006 production at Illinois community theatre Only A Stage. Casting was by RBT Casting's Ryan Bernard Tymensky.

George Strus (Breaking the Binary) was producing via Benson Drive Productions, in association with Carson Gleberman. Producer Hub was serving as a fiscal sponsor.

The continuing wild fires have caused major damage throughout the Los Angeles area, including the complete loss of Theatre Palisades community theatre. Performances of Wicked's national tour, planned concert productions of Anything Goes and Follies at Pasadena Playhouse, and a pair of Jeremy Jordan concerts at the Wallis Center are among the theatrical casualties of the fires.

With a book and lyrics by Howard Ashman and music by Alan Menken, Little Shop of Horrors turns the 1960 B horror film of the same name into a cult stage musical favorite, centering on a man-eating plant from outer space and the nebbishy florist who finds her and becomes her pathway to world domination. The original production opened Off-Broadway in 1982 and quickly became a huge hit, making the jump to the silver screen in 1987 with original leading lady Ellen Greene reprising her performance as Audrey. The musical played a Broadway run in 2003, and is currently in the sixth year of an Off-Broadway revival at the Westside Theatre.
