God bless us every one! Tony winner Jefferson Mays' one-person A Christmas Carol will play a limited Broadway engagement this holiday season at the Nederlander Theatre.

Tony nominee Michael Arden, who conceived the piece with Tony-nominated designer Dane Laffrey, will direct the Broadway production, with Mays playing all the roles in the Charles Dickens Christmas classic. The script was adapted by Mays, Susan Lyons, and Arden.

Performances at the Nederlander are scheduled to begin November 8 prior to an official opening November 21 for a limited engagement through January 1, 2023. For tickets, click here.

Mays, currently on Broadway in the revival of The Music Man, is no stranger to a solo tour de force, having won a Best Actor Tony Award in 2004 for the over 40 characters he created in Doug Wright's I Am My Own Wife. He was also Tony-nominated for his performances in Oslo and A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, also playing several roles in the latter. (Mays will play his final performance in The Music Man October 23.)

A Christmas Carol made its world premiere in 2018 at Los Angeles’ Geffen Playhouse. In winter 2020, a film version, produced by Hunter Arnold, was released to benefit partner theatres during the height of the pandemic shutdown.

The creative team also includes lighting designer Ben Stanton, projection designer Lucy Mackinnon, sound designer Joshua D. Reid, hair and makeup designer Cookie Jordan, puppet designer John Kristiansen, casting director Stephen Kopel, and associate director and production stage manager Justin Scribner.
