Pride & Prejudice* (*sort of) has found its U.K. tour cast. The musical take on the Jane Austen love story will kick off January 19 at The Lowry, Salford.
Starring in the tour will be previous West End stars of the show Leah Jamieson as Anne, Mary Bennet, Lydia Bennet and Mr. Gardiner; and Lucy Gray reprising the roles of Tillie, Charlotte Lucas, Charles Bingley, and Miss Bingley. Joining them will be Emmy Stonelake (Double Drop) as Effie and Elizabeth Bennet; Megan Louise Wilson (Pool No Water) as Clara, Jane Bennet, and Lady Catherine de Burgh; Dannie Harris (Love Letters) as Flo, Mrs. Bennet, and Fitzwilliam Darcy; and Laura Soper (The Storm Whale).
The script, penned by Olivier winner Isobel McArthur, reimagines Jane Austen's famous love story with pop favorites such as "Every Day I Write the Book," "Young Hearts Run Free," "Will You Love Me Tomorrow," "I Got You Babe," and "You’re So Vain."
McArthur and Simon Harvey co-direct the production which features staging by Jos Houben, design by Ana Inés Jabares-Pita, lighting by Colin Grenfell, musical supervision by Michael John McCarthy, sound design by Michael John McCarthy and Luke Swaffield for Autograph, and choreography by Emily Jane Boyle.
The musical will make stops at Salford's The Lowry, Newcastle's Theatre Royal, Theatre Royal Bath, Coventry's Belgrade Theatre, Richmond Theatre, Chichester Festival Theatre, Everyman Theatre Cheltenham, Eden Court Inverness, New Theatre Cardiff, Theatre Royal Nottingham, Eastbourne's Congress Theatre, Chester Storyhouse, Birmingham Rep, Leeds Grand Theatre, Blackpool Grand, Bristol Old Vic, Truro's Hall for Cornwall, Malvern's Festival Theatre, Exeter Northcott Theatre, and Theatre Royal Norwich.
Pride & Prejudice* (*sort of) is presented by David Pugh, produced by Tron Theatre Company, the Royal Lyceum Theatre Edinburgh, and Blood of the Young. It is co-produced by Birmingham Repertory Theatre, Bristol Old Vic, Leeds Playhouse, Northern Stage, and Oxford Playhouse.
