
McKnight succeeds George Hamilton in the role of slick lawyer Billy Flynn. The singer is currently scheduled to stay with the long-running revival through Nov. 18.
McKnight joins a company that currently includes Brenda Braxton as Velma Kelly, Michelle DeJean as Roxie Hart, Rob Bartlett as Amos Hart, Adriane Lenox as Matron "Mama" Morton and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine.
Brian McKnight is a Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter, arranger, producer and musician. He has released ten R&B/pop albums in 15 years, seven of which have gone platinum or multi-platinum. McKnight's hit singles include "One Last Cry," "You Should Be Mine," "The Way Love Goes," "Love Is" with Vanessa Williams and "Back at One." His most recent album, "Ten," was released in 2006 on Warner Bros. Records. McKnight is also the co-host of "The Brian McKnight Morning Show" on KTWV The Wave in Los Angeles.
Chicago won the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical in 1997 as well as awards for actors Bebe Neuwirth and James Naughton, director Walter Bobbie, lighting designer Ken Billington and choreographer Ann Reinking. The original production was directed and choreographed by the late Bob Fosse.
Chicago plays the Ambassador Theatre, located at 215 West 49th Street.
