Making its world premiere at London's Park Theatre, Tony [The Tony Blair Rock Opera] has announced its cast. Previews begin June 1 ahead of opening night June 8. Performances will run through July 9.

Starring in the title role as politician and Labour leader Tony Blair will be comedian and singer Charlie Baker. Baker will be joined by Gary Trainor, who opened the role of School of Rock's Dewey Finn on the West End, as Gordon Brown.

Also featured in the cast will be Howard Samuels as Peter Mandelson, Rosie Strobel as John Prescott, Madison Swan as Princess Diana, Holly Sumpton as Cherie Blair, Kaye Brown as Robin Cook, Adam Price as Neil Kinnock, and Marisa Harris as ensemble and understudy.

Featuring a book by stand-up comedian Harry Hill with music and lyrics by Steve Brown, Peter Rowe directs the satirical look at the life of Britain’s first pop Prime Minister Tony Blair. The work takes a look at the journey of Blair from hippy and would-be pop star to politician and multimillionaire against a backdrop of political intrigue, religion, power, and romance.

The creative team also includes choreography by Francesca Jaynes, sound design by Andre T, and set and costume design by Libby Watson.
