Fiasco Theater's Two Gentlemen of Verona Extends Again Off-Broadway | Playbill

News Fiasco Theater's Two Gentlemen of Verona Extends Again Off-Broadway Due to strong box-office demand, Theatre for a New Audience has announced it will extend its engagement of Fiasco Theater's The Two Gentlemen of Verona for a second time.

The revival of William Shakespeare's comedy, from the company behind the recent critically acclaimed Into the Woods production at Roundabout Theatre, opened April 30 and will now continue through June 20 in downtown Brooklyn.

Often dubbed as the original "rom-com," Two Gentlemen of Verona is a tale of mismatched lovers and shifting affections. Fiasco's production is directed by Jessie Austrian and Ben Steinfeld. Austrian also plays Julia, Noah Brody is Proteus; Paul L. Coffey is Speed; Zachary Fine is Valentine; Andy Grotelueschen plays Launce, Antonia and the Duke; and Emily Young is Lucetta and Sylvia.

Sets are by Derek McLane, costumes are by Whitney Locher, and lighting is by Tim Cryan. The vocal coach is Andrew Wade, and the production stage manager is Shane Schnetzler.

The Two Gentlemen of Verona is the third show of TFNA's Off-Broadway season to extend due to ticket demand. Founding artistic director Jeffrey Horowitz commented in an earlier statement, "It's thrilling that Two Gentlemen, An Octoroon, and Tamburlaine all extended. The Valley of Astonishment, directed by Peter Brook and Marie-Hélène, would also have extended but the artists were unavailable due to previous commitments."

Tickets may be purchased online at tfana.org, by phone at (866) 811-4111, or in person at the Theatre for a New Audience Box Office, located at 262 Ashland Place, Brooklyn.
