Feel Good Friday Feel Good Friday: Birthdays, Proposals, and Babies Galor!

This week was a big one for joy all around, including onstage proposals and birthday celebrations, as well as a precious new life.

Times may be hard, but there is still joy to be found, even after a long week. Sit back, relax, and enjoy a moment of emotional release. Welcome to Playbill's Feel Good Friday feature.

This week was a big one for joy all around, with many members of the Broadway community celebrating as the 2024 Oscar nominations were announced. We here at Playbill had our eyes on far more personal celebrations however, including onstage proposals and birthday celebrations, as well as a precious new life.

On January 23, Company star Britney Coleman celebrated her (real) 35th birthday in style, with the production showering her with five birthday cakes and three renditions of "Happy Birthday," including one massive singalong on stage in Greenville, South Carolina, where the tour is currently stationed.

Check photos of the many cakes and footage of the onstage singalong below!

Only a few days before, Shucked star Caroline Innerbichler welcomed her first child, a son named Linus Benjamin Wade. Innerbichler left the corny comedy upon becoming pregnant, and her little kernel has been dearly awaited by the community at large.

Innerbichler announced the baby's arrival on social media January 26 with three darling photos, including Linus in his animal-themed bassinet, Innerbichler with her husband Sean Wade at the hospital as they took Linus home, and a precious photo of the new mother cradling her bundle of joy. Congratulations!

Lastly, a handful of wrongs made a right Off-Broadway at The Play That Goes Wrong when a surprise onstage proposal shocked star Maggie Weston. In a video shared by the production, you can watch Weston's partner, Dr. George Russo, surprise her after the curtain call of the long running farce.

"I had to have a couple of sips of that AWFUL scotch out back before I got out here, because I am not an actor, and frankly I get uncomfortable in these kinds of situations," Russo shared in the beginning of his proposal. "But, I thought there was no better way to do this. Your love language is words of affirmation, and we've established that mine is through gifting, and what better gift than a surprise?"

For Russo's emotional full proposal (and the company's efforts to quickly clothe and clean up Weston from her end-of-show bedraggled state), watch the video below.
