Fairy Tale Continues for Off-Broadway Hit Disenchanted! With Open-Ended Run | Playbill

News Fairy Tale Continues for Off-Broadway Hit Disenchanted! With Open-Ended Run Following a sold-out, nine-week premiere engagement Off-Broadway, producers have announced that the musical comedy Disenchanted! will transfer to Westside Theatre Upstairs for an open-ended run beginning March 16.

The cast and opening night for the new engagement will be announced shortly.

Disenchanted! has received critical praise since opening Off-Broadway in 2014. The show features book, music and lyrics by Dennis T. Giacino, direction by Fiely A Matias and musical staging by Matt West (Sleeping Beauty).

Produced by Don Frantz (Beauty and the Beast) and Jonathan Pollard (I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change), the musical comedy presents a different perspective on the fairy tale princesses we thought we knew all too well. According to press notes, “The original storybook heroines have come back to life to set the record straight. After multiple sold-out runs nationwide, these royal renegades tosses off their tiaras to bring their hilariously subversive, not-for-the-kiddies musical to New York City.”

Following successful runs around the country, Jan. 25 marked the final performance of the original limited Off-Broadway engagement of Disenchanted! at Theatre at St. Clement’s prior to re-opening at Westside Theatre.  Producers are also preparing for international productions in 2015, with Latin America and China slated to stage the show.

Tickets are now available online by visiting Telecharge.com or calling (212) 239 6200 and via disenchantedmusical.com. Westside Theatre Upstairs is located at 407 West 43rd St., New York.
