News Check Out Who Will Be Singin' in the Rain with Adam Garcia The full Australian cast of the hit West End stage production Singin' in the Rain has been announced.

Adam Garcia will head the cast as Don Lockwood with Cosmo Brown as Jack Chambers, Gretel Scarlett as Kathy Selden, Erika Heynatz as Lina Lamont, Robyn Arthur as Dora Bailey, Rodney Dobson as Roscoe Dexter and Mike Bishop as RF Simpson.

The production is scheduled to open in May 2016 at Melbourne’s Her Majesty’s Theatre, followed by a season at Sydney’s Lyric Theatre before touring to Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.

The company will also feature Ben Brown, Nadia Coote, Stefanie De Castro, Jan Di Pietro, Samantha Leigh Dodemaide, Ben Gillespie, Jillian Green, Melanie Hawkins, Matthew Jenson, Lauren Jimmieson, Rob Mallett, Sam Marks, Hayley Martin, Meghan O'Shea, Glen Oliver, Nathan Pinnell, Jordan Pollard, Romina Villafranca, Rachael Ward and Lyndon Watts.

The stage production is based on the classic Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film starring Gene Kelly and Debbie Reynolds. The musical has direction by Jonathan Church, with Olivier Award-nominated choreography by Andrew Wright, designs by Simon Higlett and musical supervision by Robert Scott.

Set in 1927, Singin' in the Rain, according to press notes, "tells the story of the first Hollywood musical, when the silver screen found its voice and left silent movies––and some of its stars––behind. Don Lockwood is a silent movie star with everything he could want––fame, adulation and a well-publicized ‘romance’ with his co-star Lina Lamont. But Hollywood is about to change forever. There is rumour in the studio of a new kind of film, where the actors actually talk...and sing...and dance. Can Don and the uniquely voiced Lina make the transition and will chorus girl Kathy Selden fulfil her dream of stardom and capture Don’s heart along the way?" The musical is produced in Australia by Lunchbox Theatrical Productions, Dainty Group International, Michael Cassel Group and David Atkins Enterprises.

With the help of 12,000 litres of recycled water, the audience can enjoy one of the most famous dance scenes live on stage.
