Casting is now complete for the West End return of Duncan Macmillan's People, Places and Things, which will play the Trafalgar Theatre May 3–August 10. Jeremy Herrin will again direct the acclaimed drama, set to officially open May 14.
As previously announced, Denise Gough
will reprise her Olivier-winning role as Emma, a struggling
actress whose life is spinning out of control.
Gough will be joined by Sinéad Cusack (V for Vendetta) as Doctor/Therapist/Mum, Malachi Kirby (Small Axe: Mangrove) as Mark, Danny Kirrane (The Sandman) as Foster, Kevin McMonagle (Scoop) as Dad/Paul, Holly Atkins (This Country) as Charlotte, Paksie Vernon (Shetland) as Jodi, Ryan Hutton (A Midsummer’s Night Dream) as Shaun, Ayọ̀ Owóyẹmi-Peters as Laura, and Dillon Scott-Lewis (Piglets) as T. Russell Anthony (Call the Midwife) and Louise Templeton (Jayson Bend: Queen and Country) will round out the company.
People, Places and Things made its world premiere at the National Theatre’s Dorfman in September 2015 in a co-production with Headlong. The production transferred to Wyndham's Theatre in March 2016 in London’s West End before playing St. Ann’s Warehouse in New York in October 2017.
The forthcoming production will also have set design by Bunny Christie, costume design by Christina Cunningham, lighting design by James Farncombe, music by Matthew Herbert, sound design by Tom Gibbons, video design by Andrzej Goulding, movement direction by Polly Bennett, casting by Jessica Ronane, and original casting by Wendy Spon.
Christie will recreate her original set design with onstage seating, bringing an element
of intimacy to this portrayal of addiction.
