Broadway once again played a part in the quiz show Jeopardy!, this time highlighting a character's name shared by two beloved performers. Check out the answer and question in the clip above.
The answer reads, “Each in a show that ran more than 2 years, Ethel Merman and Sarah Jessica Parker played 2 different characters with this first name.” Read on below for spoilers.
The correct question is “Who is Annie?” The late Merman, who passed away in 1984, played the sharpshooter Annie Oakley in Annie Get Your Gun in the original 1946 production and again in the 1966 revival. Parker, who will star in a revival of Plaza Suite this spring, played a lovable red-headed orphan in Annie from 1979 to 1980.
While none of the contestants got the question right, the reigning champion Amy Schneider, who recently became the first woman to pass the $1 million mark, won the episode (her 30th in a row) and will continue to possibly increase her winnings.
