Full casting has been revealed for the upcoming Broadway premiere of Adam Guettel and Craig Lucas' Days of Wine and Roses, set to begin performances January 6, 2024, at Studio 54 ahead of a January 28 opening night. Much of the Off-Broadway cast will be back for the Broadway premiere, including previously announced stars Kelli O'Hara and Brian d'Arcy James and the newly announced Byron Jennings (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child), Sharon Catherine Brown (Caroline, Or Change), Bill English (Anything Goes), Olivia Hernandez (Plaza Suite), David Jennings (Tina: The Tina Turner Musical), Steven Booth (Tina: The Tina Turner Musical), Nicole Ferguson, and Kelcey Watson. New to the company for the Broadway bow will be Tabitha Lawing, Tony Carlin (The Lehman Trilogy), David Manis (To Kill a Mockingbird), and Addie Manthey.
Also returning is the entire creative team, led by director Michael Greif. As at the Atlantic, the production will feature choreography by Sergio Trujillo and Karla Puno Garcia, scenic design by Lizzie Clachan, costume design by Dede Ayite, lighting design by Ben Stanton, sound design by Kai Harada, hair and wigs by David Brian Brown, and orchestrations by Guettel and Jamie Lawrence. Kimberly Grigsby is also back as music director. Casting is by The Telsey Office's Craig Burns.
Adapted from the 1962 film and a 1958 teleplay, Days of Wine and Roses is somewhat of a Light in the Piazza reunion. Guettel and Lucas previously collaborated on the 2005 musical, with Guettel winning Tony Awards for his score and orchestrations, and Lucas receiving a Tony nod for his book. O'Hara starred and was Tony-nominated for her performance as Clara.
The Broadway bow is being produced by Kevin McCollum, Mark Cortale, Lorenzo Thione, and Joey Monda, by special arrangement with Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures. Though Roundabout Theatre Company owns Studio 54, Days of Wine and Roses is not a Roundabout production.
