News Ayad Akhtar's Invisible Hand, Starring Justin Kirk, Opens Tonight at NYTW New York Theatre Workshop's world-premiere production of Pulitzer Prize winner Ayad Akhtar's The Invisible Hand, directed by two-time Obie winner Ken Russ Schmoll, officially opens Dec. 8.

Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Justin Kirk ("Weeds") stars alongside Jameal Ali, Usman Ally (The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity) and Dariush Kashani (The Happiest Song Plays Last).

Previews began Nov. 19 for a run through Jan. 4, 2015.

Here's how the play from the Disgraced author is billed: "The Invisible Hand follows an American investment banker, kidnapped and held for ransom in Pakistan, as he trades for his life. This suspenseful new play is a chilling and complex look at how far we will go to save ourselves and the devastating ramifications of our individual actions on global power and politics."

The production features scenic design by Tony Award nominee Riccardo Hernandez (The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess), costume design by Tony Award nominee ESosa (The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess), lighting design by Obie Award winner Tyler Micoleau (The Fortress of Solitude) and sound design by Lortel Award winner Leah Gelpe.
