The cast of Broadway's Here Lies Love heads to 54 Below October 9 to sing the songs of Here Lies Love music director J. Oconer Navarro. The evening features a sneak preview of songs from Navarro's Fil-Am musical Death of the Pastores, currently being co-written with Laura Dadap and inspired by Filipino folk guitarist Michael Dadap.
Along with production star Arielle Jacobs, the concert features performances from Julia Abueva, Reanne Acasio, Aaron J. Albano, Renée Albulario, Aaron Alcaraz, Carol Angeli, Nathan Angelo, Kristina Doucette, Roy Flores, Jasmine Forsberg, Sarah Kay, Jeigh Madjus, Geena Quintos, Shea Renne Hughes, Angelo Soriano, Danielle Troiano, and Moses Villarama. Dadap is also making a special guest appearance.
Nathaniel P. Claridad is directing the evening, which features arrangements by Brandon Ilaw and Justin Ramos. Musicians include Joe Cruz, Jay Julio, Adrianna Mateo, and Derek Nievergelt.
Navarro is a Jonathan Larson Grant recipient whose musicals include Awakening, Birth Day, Breathe, and The New Peggy. As a music director and pit musician, Navarro has worked on Caroline, or Change on Broadway; and Los Otros, First Daughter Suite, iOW@, and Adding Machine Off-Broadway.
