Bryggman (Broadway's Proof, "As the World Turns") stars as Lyman Wyeth, with Carey (Broadway's London Assurance) as Polly Wyeth in the Tony Award-nominated Jon Robin Baitz family drama, set in Palm Springs, CA.
The Kyle Donnelly-directed production also features Hayes Award winner Emily Donahoe (Shakespeare in Hollywood, Broadway's 33 Variations) as unstable daughter Brooke; Scott Drummond (Arena's Well) as TV producer-son Trip; and Martha Hackett (a veteran of South Coast Rep, Mark Taper Forum and Ford's Theatre) as alcoholic Aunt Silda.
Playwright Baitz is a Pulitzer Prize finalist for A Fair Country. His other plays are Mizlansky/Zilinsky or "schmucks," The Film Society, The Substance of Fire, The End of the Day, Three Hotels, A Fair Country, an adaptation of Hedda Gabler, Ten Unknowns and The Paris Letter.
Donnelly was associate artistic director at Arena Stage 1992-98 and has directed Ah, Wilderness!, Well, The Women, Born Yesterday, She Loves Me, Polk County (Helen Hayes Award Best Musical), Dancing at Lughnasa (Helen Hayes Award Best Production), Misalliance, Tom Walker, Lovers and Executioners, School for Wives and many other productions. She directed the American premiere of Brian Friel's Give Me Your Answer, Do! Off-Broadway and has worked with many regional theatres. She has won Helen Hayes and Joseph Jefferson Awards.
