Directed by Kevin Moriarty, the production plays the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre Sept. 9-Oct. 9 with an official opening Sept. 16.

The cast also includes Chamblee Ferguson as Prospero, Abbey Siegoworth as Miranda, Joe Nemmers as Caliban, Lee Trull as Stephano, Steven Michael Walters as Ferdinand, Matthew Tomlanovich as Alonso, Jerry Russell as Gonzalo, Christopher Carlos as Sebastian, J. Brent Alford as Antonio, John Paul Green as Adrian, David Price as the Boatswain, Cliff Miller as Trinculo and John Dana Kenning as Francisco.

"There could scarcely be a more provocative start to the Dallas Theatre Center season — or a more vivid way to experience Shakespeare's beloved final play," according to DTC notes. "Unique staging that transports you deeply into the middle of the spectacle, music and dance. Immortal themes such as the power of forgiveness and the bond between parent and child."

The production also features original music by Aaron Meicht and sets and costumes designed by Broadway's Beowulf Boritt (Rock of Ages, Sondheim on Sondheim).

Herdlicka, a performer since he was eight years old, has appeared in concerts and regional productions across the country. About a week after graduating Carnegie Mellon in May 2009, he arrived in New York City and had his first audition. After his callback, attended by both director Trevor Nunn and Stephen Sondheim, he was told he landed the role of pent-up seminary student Henrik Egerman in Broadway's A Little Night Music. He has also been seen at the Utah Shakespearean Festival and West Virginia Public Theater.
