Though BroadwayCon offers programming until 10:50 PM Friday and Saturday, and 6:50 PM Sunday, there are late-night concerts nearby for theatre-loving night owls (plus Thursday-night shows for those arriving in town a day early, and Monday-night shows for those staying an extra day). Here are five shows to check out if you are in the area. Make sure to get your tickets now, since fans from all over the world will head to New York City’s Javits Center January 27-29 for BroadwayCon 2017.
And, if you haven’t purchased BroadwayCon tickets yet, there are still tickets available, including a 25 percent discount for individuals with a valid student ID. The discount applies to general weekend passes and single-day passes for the three-day event.

54 Sings Broadway’s Greatest Hits 9:30 PM at Feinstein’s/54 Below (254 W. 54th Street)

On BroadwayCon Eve, Feinstein’s/54 Below will present another installment of Broadway’s Greatest Hits. According to the venue, “If you skip through cast albums just to hear the very best songs in each show, this is the nightclub concert event for you.” Produced, directed, and hosted by Scott Siegel, the January 26 event features performances from Kea Chan, Hunter Ryan Herdlicka, Joshua Israel, Judy McLane, and William Michals.
Shaina Taub 7 PM at Joe’s Pub (425 Lafayette Street)
Get to know the music of songwriter and performer Shaina Taub, whose musical adaptation of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night debuted at The Public Theater on the Delacorte Stage in Central Park last year. Her Joe’s Pub show will be a creative laboratory, as she and her band debut new songs. Audiences can also expect lots of selections from Old Hats and Visitors, as well as special guest appearances along the way.
Penn State Sings Joe Iconis 9:30 PM and 11:30 PM at Feinstein’s/54 Below (254 W. 54th Street)
College-bound BroadwayCon attendees can take a peek into the Penn State musical theatre program when Penn State seniors hit the concert stage for an evening of Joe Iconis tunes. Iconis, who will also be at BroadwayCon and is known for his Smash hit “Broadway, Here I Come,” will join the evening. Get to know the Smash songwriter’s repertoire of melodies. John Simpkins, head of the Penn State MT Program, directs a cast featuring Jessie Davidson, Alex Dorf, Miranda Gelch, Maggie Malaney, Lauren Moore, Hannah Provisor, Libby Rosenfield, London Sperry, and Aidan Wharton.
The Broadway Princess Party 7 PM and 9:30 PM at Feinstein’s/54 Below (254 W. 54th Street)
Following eight sold-out shows, Broadway’s Cinderella, Laura Osnes, and music director Benjamin Rauhala return to host their latest Princess Party at Feinstein’s/54 Below. Though the popular show is sold out, a waitlist is still open. This time, the Broadway princesses will be joined by Tony nominee Susan Egan, Broadway’s original Belle in Beauty and the Beast and the voice of Meg in Disney’s animated Hercules.
The evening will also feature performances from Krystina Alabado, Christy Altomare, Jackie Burns, Mara Davi, Arielle Jacobs, Steffanie Leigh, Taylor Louderman (9:30 PM only), Courtney Reed (9:30 PM only), Ashley Spencer, Stephanie Styles, Jenna Ushkowitz, Adrienne Warren, and Alexandra Zorn.
From TV to 54: The Songs of Nashville 7 PM and 9:30 PM at Feinstein’s/54 Below (254 W. 54th Street)
If you stick around an extra day, Kyle Dean Massey, who plays Kevin Bicks on the television series Nashville, will be singing tunes from the ABC/CMT television show alongside a cast of Broadway favorites. The TV show, which recently began its fifth season, features a soundtrack of original country music songs, including “Don’t Put Dirt on My Grave,” “Telescope,” and “What If It’s You.”
With musical direction by Eli Zoller and Joshua Zecher-Ross, and produced by Shoshana Feinstein, the evening features performances from Tommy Bracco, Jackie Burns, Dan DeLuca, Kevin Duda, Beanie Feldstein, Taylor Frey, Kathryn Gallagher, Bradley Gibson, Alyssa May Gold, James Harkness, Melissa Steadman Hart, Ginna Claire Mason, Bonnie Milligan, Maggie McDowell, and Patti Murin.
