Theatre Aspen, the award-winning professional theatre company located in the heart of the Colorado mountains, is accepting applications for a Summer Education Program Manager to join our staff. Situated in one the most unique destinations in the world, Theatre Aspen is one of the region’s most celebrated theatrical and arts education institutions and has been a fixture of the community for over forty years.

In collaboration with our Education Manager, the Summer Education Program Manager oversees the successful operation and delivery of our summer theatre education programs and productions. This role manages Teaching Artists, camp scheduling, registration, communications, and artistic and production elements to ensure a high-quality and engaging experience for students and families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Staff Management: Schedule, supervise, and provide feedback to Summer Teaching Artists; manage substitute coverage, payroll documentation, and participant rosters; support hiring as needed.
  • Program & Camp Administration: Coordinate class and rehearsal schedules, manage space bookings, handle camp registration and payment plans, track attendance, and oversee scholarship applications and communications.
  • Artistic & Production Oversight: Direct the creative process for summer productions by leading auditions, supervising creative teams, and supporting production planning, budgeting, scheduling, meetings, and technical needs; facilitate initial rehearsals as needed.
  • Parent & Family Communication: Serve as primary contact for families, providing updates, answering questions, and addressing any student achievement or behavioral concerns.
  • Marketing & Promotion: Collaborate with Education and Marketing staff to plan and execute marketing campaigns, design promotional materials and playbills, coordinate photography and videography, and lead ticket/ad sales initiatives.
  • Event & Front of House Planning: Organize Summer Education Celebration and support front of house operations for productions, including volunteer coordination, safety procedures, and event logistics.
  • Daily Operations & Camper Support: Oversee day-to-day camp operations, including pick-up/drop-off, snack and lunch supervision, classroom transitions, supply purchasing, survey administration, and conflict resolution as escalation point for student or staff concerns.
  • Teaching: Develop curriculum and lead selected camp sessions.
  • Special Projects: Coordinate special programs (e.g., Storytime partnership with local library) and assist in tasks as assigned by Education and Marketing leadership.

Qualifications: Experience in arts education program management, strong communication and organizational skills, ability to lead teams and manage competing priorities, and background in theatre production and teaching preferred.

Dates: June 2 – August 13, 2025

Salary: $850.00 per week, plus housing and travel provided.
