DESCRIPTION

Seeking comedic/character actors for a staged reading of The Many Gay Adventures of Nicholas Laurenstein, a queer farce written by William Meurer, and directed by Alexandara Munroe.

Synopsis: Dr. Nicholas A. Laurenstein is an adventurer in every sense of the word. When he isn’t teaching archeology to the students of Cambridge University, he’s exchanging blows with the seemingly endless assortment of cartoony villains who step through his door in search of rare and unusual artifacts.

NICHOLAS A. LAURENSTEIN- Early 30's. Think if Indiana Jones and Sherlock Holmes had a gay love child with undiagnosed ADHD. (He/Him)

PETER LAURENSTEIN- Early 30's. Nick's husband. A sweet, kind, and dirty bastard. (He/Him)

CHARLES/ RICHARD/ KAREN/ GOON-

A British twat (He/Him), a dumbass (He/Him), A red neck Karen (She/Her), and a cartoonish henchman (He/him.)

CUSTODIAN/ NATALIA/ LAUREN/JOE STEEL-

A custodian (She/her), A good girl trying to be bad (She/Her), a terrified daughter (She/Her), A Mafia boss type villian (He/Him).

Actors with experience with British RP, American Southern, and New York accents highly encouraged to apply.

The readings will be taking place at the Tank Theater in NYC (312 W 36th St.,

New York, NY 10018) on Nov. 22 (9:30pm), Nov. 24th (9:30pm), and Nov. 26th (7pm). Rehearsal schedule will be determined based on actor availability.

All actors will be paid a stipend of $50, in addition to a portion of ticket sales given by the Tank.
