LARAS JOURNEY is a one-act (40min) one woman show about a Ukrainian refugee.
To perform in two performances reading may 21st and 22nd (tbd) at Theater 555.
Female, Ukrainian, Age 20-30 (character is 21-23 but experience preferred if can play and looks younger), prefer slender frame (character has eating disorder), English speaking.
Actress must be able to play extrovert and introvert, plus full and extensive range of emotions, as well as sustain energy to drive a solo show. This is more important than perfect English speaking language.
Experience and confidence to memorize entire play arc for solo-work without leaving stage (no scene breaks) for future work after reading a bonus.
Confident to work with sensitive material— trigger for PTSD sexual assault, war and displacement.
Reading will take place first (wages reflect this).
