brooklynONE productions Seeks Performers for the Brooklyn Renaissance Festival — Part of the Brooklyn Shakespeare Festival — August 10 & 11, 2025

brooklynONE Productions (bkONE), a Brooklyn-based nonprofit arts company known for bold, immersive, and genre-defying programming, is now casting and booking talent for the Brooklyn Renaissance Festival, a flagship weekend event taking place August 10 & 11 at Industry City, Brooklyn — and a featured highlight of the Brooklyn Shakespeare Festival 2025.

The Brooklyn Renaissance Festival transforms Industry City into a living, breathing medieval village filled with music, laughter, and spectacle. Audiences will encounter immersive performances, period-inspired music, artisan vendors, workshops, and live theatrical vignettes — all celebrating the enduring power of Shakespeare, storytelling, and community.

WE ARE NOT SEEKING FIRE-PERFORMERS AT THIS TIME.

We are seeking a diverse ensemble of performers and talent, including:

• Actors & Improvisers (especially with Shakespearean chops and comedic flair)

• Musicians (folk, classical, early music, acoustic, world, and period-inspired styles)

• Street & Specialty Performers (jugglers, stilt walkers, magicians, puppeteers, acrobats)

• Dancers (historical, folk, theatrical, or contemporary fusion)

• Artists & Demonstrators

• Bards, Poets, Fortune Tellers

Key Details:

• Performances are live and interactive throughout both festival days (Saturday & Sunday).

• Performances are outdoors, and performers must be comfortable engaging with audiences in character.

• Ensemble work and improvisation are a plus; this is a highly participatory environment.

• All roles are not-paid, but opportunities for tips, vendor-style sales..

• Rehearsals and coordination meetings will be scheduled in the weeks leading up to the event.
