International News World Premiere of West End-Bound The Time Traveller's Wife Begins September 30

With a score by Grammy winners Joss Stone and The Eurythmics' Dave Stewart, the musical plays Chester's Storyhouse before London's West End.

The pre-West End world premiere of The Time Traveller's Wife: The Musical begins its run at Chester's Storyhouse September 30, where it will run through October 15. The new musical features music and lyrics by Grammy winners Joss Stone and The Eurythmics' Dave Stewart and a book by Lauren Gunderson (I and You, The Book of Will).

David Hunter (Waitress, Kinky Boots) stars as Henry opposite Joanna Woodward (Pretty Woman) as Clare, with Aisha Davis as Dr. Kendrick, Ross Dawes as Henry’s Dad, Hiba Elchikhe (Everybody’s Talking About Jamie) as Charisse, Stevie Hutchinson as Clare’s Dad, Tim Mahendran as Gomez, Sorelle Marsh as Henry’s Mum, Benjamin Purkiss as Jason/Mark, and Alwyne Taylor as Old Clare. Further casting will be announced in the coming days.

Based on the Audrey Niffenegger novel and its film adaptation penned by Bruce Joel Rubin, The Time Traveller's Wife centers on a love story between Henry and Clare, one experienced out of order thanks to Henry's rare condition that sees him pulled into the past or the future with no warning when his genetic clock periodically resets. The musical adaptation features additional music by Nick Finlow and additional lyrics by Kait Kerrigan.

A West End run is planned following the Chester world premiere, with details to be announced.

Bill Buckhurst helms the world premiere, with designs by Anna Fleischle, choreography by Shelley Maxwell, lighting design by Lucy Carter, illusions by Chris Fisher, video design by Andrzej Goulding, sound design by Richard Brooker, musical supervision and arrangements by Finlow, and orchestrations by Bryan Crook. The production is cast by Grindrod Burton Casting and is produced by Colin Ingram for InTheatre Productions, Gavin Kalin Productions, Teresa Tsai, and Crossroads Live, by special arrangement with Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures.
