Industry News The Tank Launches Producers Cohort Program

The fellowship will help to support early career theatrical producers who have traditionally been excluded from producing opportunities.

The Tank has announced their newest fellowship opportunity, the Tank Producers Cohort, which will be funded by a grant from the Mellon Foundation.

Designed to support emergencing creative producers who have traditionally been excluded from producing opportunities, the program will support a small group with renewable annual fellowships, awarding $15,000 and funding for professional development to participants.

Members will also participate in regular career development meetings and practicum discussions with mentor practitioners. Fellows will have hands on experience producing at The Tank, and will be matched with projects designed to introduce them to long-term collaborators.

“This program is thrilling because it will provide support for a group of folks within the Indie-theatre community that rarely find opportunities to be paid for their work,” said Meghan Finn, The Tank’s artistic director. “It will grow efforts already underway at The Tank and be mutually beneficial to artists working in production here, and we can’t wait to see how it improves the production process overall.”

Applications for the inaugural class of fellows will close June 5. To learn more, visit TheTankNYC.org.
