The Into the Woods Tony winner will direct her son's new solo show at the cabaret venue.

Aaron David Gleason is keeping it in the family with his new solo show Come Hell and High Water, enlisting his Tony-winning mom Joanna Gleason to direct the solo show. 

Set for July 26 at 54 Below, the show will utilize Aaron David Gleason's original songs as well as covers of popular tunes to explore the challenges of the last year, combined with his own first-person narrative. Watch a trailer for the concert above.

“My goal with this show is to exorcise all of the negative experiences I’ve dealt with these many months and highlight how the power of family, relationships, and music can truly heal,” he says. “My mother, who has so much expertise and knowledge to impart has encouraged me to show my vulnerable side, which I hope resonates (and also entertains) audiences.”

Joanna Gleason won a Tony for her performance as the Baker's Wife in the original Broadway company of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Into the Woods, later appearing on the Main Stem in Nick & Nora and Dirty Rotten ScoundrelsCome Hell and High Water will be the first "official" collaboration between the pair.

“I was thrilled when Aaron asked me to collaborate,” she says. “I’m such a fan, and this show is so deeply honest and funny. And the music is great. It’s a true pleasure for me."

Come Hell and High Water will feature music direction by Darnell White, leading a band that includes Neal Rosenthal, Joshua Roberts, Irene Blackman, Bella May Mordus, and Joseph Wallace.
