London's Tricycle Theatre is to stage a series of In Conversation With events, in which actor Jim Carter will host a joint conversation with Dames Judi Dench and Maggie Smith, as well as filmmakers Paul Greengrass and Danny Boyle.

All of the proceeds will support the Tricycle Theatre's work, including the Creative Learning program and the Tricycle’s current Capital Development Project. The events feature a special hour-long conversation before a Q&A session.

In a press statement, Carter, who is best known for his TV role as Carson in Downton Abbey, commented, “It’s wonderful to be returning to the Tricycle, one of London’s most vibrant theatres, to talk to these legendary figures of stage and screen, in what I hope will be an unmissable series of events.”

The series will begin with an interview with BAFTA Award-winning and Oscar-nominated director Paul Greengrass February 5, 2017, to be followed by a special screening of The Bourne Ultimatum.

On February 12 the interview will be with BAFTA- and Academy Award-winning director Danny Boyle, who also directed the opening ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics and Frankenstein at the National Theatre. It will be followed by a special screening of Slumdog Millionaire.

On February 26, Dames Judi Dench and Maggie Smith will appear together in conversation, which will be followed by a special fundraising reception following the event, hosted by the Tricycle artistic director Indhu Rubasingham. (Tickets for the reception cost an extra £25, but places are limited to 100 people only.)
