Last Chance: What's Closing This Week | Playbill

News Last Chance: What's Closing This Week Here's Playbill.com's weekly "Last Chance" reminder to catch Broadway, Off-Broadway and world-premiere productions before they take a final bow.

Concluding March 15

Constellations (Broadway at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre). Nick Payne's Constellations is a love story about a beekeeper and a physicist that features Jake Gyllenhaal and Ruth Wilson under the direction of Michael Longhurst. Here's how the production is billed: "This mind-bending, romantic journey begins with a simple encounter between a man and a woman. But what happens next defies the boundaries of the world we think we know – delving into the infinite possibilities of their relationship and raising questions about the difference between choice and destiny." Verité (Off-Broadway at the Claire Tow Theater). Anna Camp stars in the Off-Broadway world premiere of Nick Jones' Verité alongside Oliver Hollmann, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Robert Sella, Jeanine Serralles, Danny Wolohan and Damian Young. "In Verité," according to LCT3, "Jo (Camp), a struggling writer and stay-at-home mom, is offered an unusual deal for her memoir: she has to make her life exciting enough to publish. As mysterious and even sinister events start happening to her, Jo has to decide how far she is willing to go to make her life into art, and whether it’s all coincidence or if someone is determined to make sure her memoir is a best-seller at any cost." Big Love (Off-Broadway at The Pershing Square Signature Center/Irene Diamond Stage). Directed by Tina Landau, Charles L. Mee's Big Love features Emmanuel Brown, Lynn Cohen, Ellen Harvey, Ryan-James Hatanaka, Christopher Innvar, Rebecca Naomi Jones, Preston Sadleir, Stacey Sargeant, Nathaniel Stampley, Bobby Steggert and Libby Winters. Here's how it's billed: "In Aeschylus's The Suppliant Women, fifty unwilling brides are pledged to fifty eager brothers. The battle of the sexes is still on in Mee's highly physical contemporary adaptation, where three men and three women stand in for the hordes of the betrothed." Visit SignatureTheatre.org.

The Winter's Tale (Off-Broadway at The Peral Theatre). Directed by Michael Sexton, The Winter's Tale features Jolly Abraham, Rachel Botchan, Bradford Cover, Dominic Cuskern, Adam Green, Peter Francis James, Tom Nelis, Steve Cuiffo, James Udom and Imani Jade Powers. Here's how it's billed: "Jealous passion threatens to blight the lives of two generations when a monarch wrongly accuses his wife of infidelity. Shakespeare's lyrical romance takes baby Perdita on a fantastical journey from the shadows of Sicily to the sunny shores of Bohemia, and from the near-tragic consequences of jealousy to the healing powers of forgiveness." Visit PearlTheatre.org. The Iceman Cometh (Off-Broadway at the Brooklyn Academy of Music's Harvey Theater). The Goodman Theatre's production of the Eugene O'Neill classic The Iceman Cometh stars Tony Award winners Nathan Lane and Brian Dennehy. Director Robert Falls helms the five-hour drama that sold out its Chicago run in 2012. The original Chicago cast and creative team reunite for the BAM engagement, which is presented in association with Scott Rudin. In O'Neill's masterwork, a series of devastatingly comic and heartbreaking events transpire at Harry Hope's saloon, home to an eclectic mix of patrons whose lives are upended by the arrival of traveling salesman and old friend Hickey.
