News Jonathan Pryce Merchant of Venice Will Play Kennedy Center The Shakespeare's Globe production of The Merchant of Venice, headed by Tony winner Jonathan Pryce as Shylock, will be seen at the Kennedy Center this summer, according to the Washington Post.

Performances are scheduled to begin July 27 at the Eisenhower Theater. The five-performance engagement will continue through July 30.

Directed by Jonathan Munby, the cast also includes Rachel Pickup as Portia and Pryce's daughter Phoebe as Jessica, Shylock's daughter.

As previously reported, this production will also be part of the Lincoln Center Festival, which begins July 13. The William Shakespeare classic will run for seven nights at the Rose Theater on a set that recreates the Globe stage.

Pryce won Tony Awards for his performances in Comedians and Miss Saigon.
