News Jonathan Pryce and Michelle Terry to Star in Productions at Shakespeare's Globe in London Two-time Tony winner Jonathan Pryce is to star as Shylock in The Merchant of Venice that opens the 2015 season at Shakespeare's Globe, beginning performances April 23 prior to an official opening April 30. It will then run in rep through June 7.

As previously announced, it will be directed by Jonathan Munby and forms part of the Globe's "Justice and Mercy" season.

Pryce, who won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play in 1977 for Comedians and for Best Actor in a Musical for Miss Saigon, has more recently appeared in Harold Pinter's The Caretaker in London and New York, and in the title role of King Lear at the Almeida. His film credits include "Brazil," "Glengarry Glen Ross," "Carrington" (for which he won the Cannes Film Festival and Evening Standard Awards for Best Actor), "Evita" and "Tomorrow Never Dies." He was nominated for an Emmy Award for his performance in "Cranford: Return to Cranford," and he will shortly be appearing as Cardinal Wolsey in the TV adaptation of Hilary Mantel's "Wolf Hall."

Michelle Terry, who previously appeared at the Globe in Love's Labour's Lost in 2009 and A Midsummer Night's Dream in 2013, is to return to the Globe to play Rosalind in As You Like It, beginning performances May 15 prior to an official opening May 20 for a run in rep through Sept. 5. It will be directed by Blanche McIntyre, who made her Globe debut in 2014 directing The Comedy of Errors.

Terry won an Olivier Award in 2011 for her portrayal of Sylvia in the original production of Nina Raine's Tribes at the Royal Court. Other recent theatre credits include Before The Party (Almeida), In the Republic of Happiness (Royal Court) and Love's Labour’s Won (RSC). Her work at the National Theatre includes The Comedy of Errors, London Assurance, All's Well That Ends Well and England People Very Nice. Between 2011 and 2013 she co-wrote (with Ralf Little) and starred in the Sky1 comedy drama series "The Café."
