Tony-winning Broadway favorite Heather Headley (Aida, The Color Purple) will join The New York Pops for a concert at Carnegie Hall February 10, 2023, performing highlights from her career. Headley replaces the previously announced Adrienne Warren, who has withdrawn due to a scheduling conflict. The evening will be led by Pops music director and conductor Steven Reineke.
Also changing from the announced season is November 18's I'm Still Here: Celebrating Sondheim concert. The evening, now titled Broadway Blockbusters, will feature works by Leonard Bernstein, Alan Menken, Stephen Sondheim, Andrew Lloyd Webber, and more. Jordan Donica (My Fair Lady) has joined the line-up for the concert, which still includes Nikki Renée Daniels, Matt Doyle, and Melissa Errico.
The upcoming Pops season also includes Ingrid Michaelson, performing carols and holiday tunes with Essential Voices USA in Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree December 16 and taking the stage again December 17 in Winter Song: A Holiday Evening with Ingrid Michaelson, featuring original songs from the indie pop artist and her holiday album Songs for the Season; The Music of Star Wars October 21, with musical direction and conducting by Reineke; and Marilyn Maye in The Marvelous Marilyn Maye March 24, with the cabaret icon set to perform a program including musical theatre classics.
