Stage and screen actor Anthony Rapp and Ken Ithiphol have welcomed a baby boy, as the engaged couple has announced on Instagram.

Born via surrogacy December 2, the child has been named Rai Larson Ithiphol—a possible nod to late Rent writer Jonathan Larson. Rapp, of course, starred in the iconic musical as Mark in the original company of both the Off-Broadway and Broadway stage runs and the 2005 film adaptation.

Rapp will soon present his solo musical show Without You Off-Broadway for a limited run at New World Stages beginning January 14, 2023. Based on his best-selling memoir of the same name, Without You features music from Rent along with original songs by Anthony Rapp, David Matos, and Joe Pisapia. The show picks up as Rapp, broke and working at Starbucks, gets an audition for a new rock opera, going on to tell the story of the early days of the landmark musical.

The actor announced his engagement to Ithiphol, a leadership coach, social researcher, and advocate, in November 2019.
