Hadestown features a book, music, and lyrics by Anaïs Mitchell. The Rachel Chavkin-directed production opened on Broadway April 17, 2019. It won eight Tony Awards that season, including Best Musical. Original Broadway stars Reeve Carney, Tony Award winner André De Shields, two-time Tony nominee Eva Noblezada, and Tony nominee Patrick Page are still with the production at the Walter Kerr Theatre.
