Kin A New Musical

Following two concert performances at The Other Palace, the new British musical Kin, inspired by events that took place in a small town in 1980s America, will receive its world premiere production at Hitchin's The Factory Playhouse September 7–11.

Directed by co-creator Emil Dale, the cast will feature Alex James-Hatton (Heathers) as Noah, Elliott Evans (Taboo) as Kyle and the cover for Noah, Sophie-Rose Middleton (SIX) as Cora, Jake Alun (Strange Encounters) as Terrance, Olivia Hallett (Anything Goes) as Carole and Marge, Thomas Alsop (Carousel) as Turtle, Sam Wells (Days of Candy) as Kirk, Harvey Loakes (The Osmonds Musical) as Joe, Livi Kent (Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat) as Thea, Laura Dawkes (Kin) as Ivy, Ralph Phillips (EDSA) as Calvin, Simanié Hemmise (Kin) as Eva, Javai James (Kin) as Tarick, Georgie Butler (Footloose) as June, and Ella McLaughlin (Footloose) as Tam.

Written by Dale and Stefan Kelk, the musical concerns the KIN, a controversial community that has purchased an old ranch in Ashville, causing conflict with the townsfolk. Noah, the mayor’s son, desperate to prove himself to his father, is forced to take matters into his own hands and save the town from disaster.

The production will also have musical supervision and musical direction by Pete Mitchell, choreography by Arran Anzani-Jones, sound design by Steve Jonas, lighting design by Bob Bustance, dramaturgy in original workshops Sarah Middleton, and casting by Claire Cassidy from Debbie O’Brien Casting. Beatrice Pryor is the company manager.
