Brian Tyree Henry, who earned Tony and Emmy Award nominations this year for his performances in Broadway’s Lobby Hero and FX’s Atlanta, respectively, is set to star in the upcoming indie film The Outside Story.
According to Deadline, Henry has been tapped to play Charles, an editor who combats his debilitating introversion when locked out of his apartment building. The film, set to begin production in November, is written and directed by Casimir Nozkowski. Sub Genre and Greenmachine Film serve as producers.
Henry, who previously appeared on the New York stage in The Book of Mormon and The Fortress of Solitude, will also be seen in the upcoming Steve McQueen-Gillian Flynn thriller Widows alongside Viola Davis, Cynthia Erivo, Daniel Kaluuya, Carrie Coon, and Colin Farrell.
